LabMACS is a software house and IT consultancy. Our primary function is to provide, maintain and develop our ICAST sample management system now and into the future. We also provide management expertise, data reconciliation and bespoke programming services to oversee the rollout and integration of the system.

ICAST was originally developed by the UK Health Protection Agency, to help them control, manage and audit their extensive frozen specimen storage facilities. LabMACS is now the sole license holder for ICAST and works closely with the HPA and our clients to develop and support the software for a variety of applications.

While ICAST will perform the majority of sample and specimen management functions, we also recognise that each deployment will almost certainly have differing requirements.

To address this, LabMACS also provides a project management function to analyse any specific integration requirements or functionality not met by the standard suite. We can then tailor ICAST accordingly.
